Lumber: everything 2×6. Seat cuts assume a 3-1/2" (2×4) wall plate; the hip HAP already includes the 5/16" drop. The rafter heel is cut to the outside of the wall sheathing, and the overhang is measured from the framing — it counts the sheathing (so with 3/8" sheathing a 4" overhang projects 3-5/8" past the sheathing face, fascia 4" off the framing). Ridge: cut a little long and trim to fit — never short.

Orange = a cut. Measure down the top edge from the ridge cut to the bird's mouth, then the tail.
Lengths are to the long point of the top edge. Hips run full to the peak (no deduction) and die into the gusseted king-common pair with a double 45° cheek; jacks get a single 45° cheek. Bird's-mouth seat depth = your plate width. Always cut one of each as a pattern and dry-fit before cutting the stack.
